OXFORD QUANTUM CIRCUITS
Dr Ilana Wisby is a deep tech entrepreneur and the Founding CEO of Oxford Quantum Circuits (OQC). OQC has built the UK’s most advanced quantum computer, the only commercially available in the country. OQC’s technology helps solve some of the world’s most challenging problems, from enabling life-changing drug discoveries to delivering unbreakable cryptography, from unleashing the full potential of AI to unlocking nature’s best-kept design secrets. OQC uses the power of quantum to develop technology that will change the world and give businesses a competitive edge. Having gained a PhD in quantum physics from Royal Holloway, where she spent most of her PhD as a student in industry at the National Physical Laboratory, Ilana worked for a number of software start-ups developing AI technology. Ilana has led OQC from a brilliant idea and a patent to a 30 people company, winning significant government funding and delivering the first UK quantum computer in just 4 years. Ilana’s ambitions can be summed up in a single word – impact. She believes in pushing boundaries and doing things that have never been done before. As one of only 3 women leading quantum companies worldwide, she is passionate about supporting and promoting women and diversity in tech. Ilana is an advisor to the World Economic Forum’s new Future Council on Quantum and advises Cyber Security Councils, various governments, and the UN.
