Neill Duffy is widely recognized by his peers as a thought leader in the area of purpose, sponsorship marketing and sustainability. He has extensive experience enabling some of the biggest global sponsors, sports properties and non-profits in the world to deliver positive business, social and environmental outcomes through purpose led sport initiatives.
Neill’s relentless commitment to leveraging purpose as a central organizing principle drives the development and implementation of business strategies that repeatedly establish new benchmarks including a number of world firsts such as Super Bowl 50 as the “most shared, participatory, giving, sustainable and commercially successful Super Bowl in history” and the 34th America’s Cup as the first ever zero waste and carbon neutral major international sports event.
Neill has worked across three continents where he has held a number of leadership positions foremost as President Octagon EMEA, CEO of Octagon South Africa, Chair of the Sustainability Committee for Super Bowl 50, Chief Marketing & Sustainability Officer for 34th America’s Cup and Chief Catalyst at One World Play Project.
Neill is currently CEO and Founder of 17 Sport, the world’s first sports impact company operating at the intersection of sport, business and purpose and the first B Corp in its category in the world. 17 Sport partners with progressive brands, sport properties, and athletes including adidas, Sanofi, WIPRO, NFL, and Formula E to help them activate their purpose through sport, internally and externally, to deliver positive financial, social, and environmental outcomes – to do good while doing well.
Neill also advises a number of social and/or environmental impact led technology start-ups where he focuses on helping them to scale their reach and impact through smart thinking and collaborative partnerships. Current advisory partners include Hytch Rewards, inPACT, TangoTab.
Neill regularly presents at industry events and conferences with recent events including Global Sports Week, Athlete X Brand, Laureus Summit and Sport At Service Of Humanity Conference. He also regularly publishes thought leadership pieces in leading publications and is also the author of Legacy Sport – How To Win At The Business Of Sport In The Age Of Social Good and Passion Branding – Harnessing The Power of Passion To Build Strong Brands with John Wiley & Sons. Neill was a Be The Change Best For The World Honoree in 2016.
Neill lives in Paris with his wife Marion and Australian Shephard Sully. He loves walking in nature, eating great food and watching rugby and exploring new places.
