Deputy General Manager of Huawei France since 2017, Minggang Zhang, began his career as a design engineer at TRT, a subsidiary of electronics giant Philips dedicated to telecommunications systems, which was later acquired by the American Lucent. Between 1998 and 2002, Minggang worked for Lucent is Boston where he was sent to set up a marketing department dedicated to Asia and China. He then returned to France and left the group to co-found Optogone, a start-up specializing in optical components. He joined Huawei in 2007, as Orange France account manager. In 2011, he became head of the Bouygues Telecom portfolio, a position he held until 2017, when he was promoted to deputy general manager and joined the company's executive committee. This Francophile completed his higher education at the Institut Polytechnique de Grenoble, after graduating from the École Normale Supérieure in Canton, China. Minggang Zhang graduated in engineering in 1990.
