Bertrand Pailhès is Head of Technology and Innovation at the CNIL, the French Data Protection Authority since November 2019. He supervised the technological expertise department, internal IT, an multidisciplinary innovation lab and a freshly created Artificial intelligence department.
Graduated of Telecom ParisTech and Sciences Po Paris, Bertrand Pailhès worked at the French telecom regulator and CNIL before joining, in 2013, the office of the ministers for digital economy, Fleur Pellerin and Axelle Lemaire. As a Chief of Staff to the later, he worked on the Digital Republic Law adopted in October 2016. Before joining CNIL, Bertrand Pailhès was national coordinator of the French national strategy for artificial intelligence.
