JP Lee
CEO / Managing Partner
SoftBank Ventures Asia
JP has had a career as both a technology entrepreneur and an investor.
In 2001, JP founded Evixar, a web-based remote control platform for PC, which was acquired by a public company in 2004.
He subsequently joined GOM TV, the largest Internet video service in Korea, as the director of global business development. While at the company, JP ran GOM Star League, the world’s first e-sports league, broadcasted to more than 100 million viewers worldwide. JP then co-founded Enswers, an ACR (Automatic Content Recognition) technology company.
Over the years, JP tripled his team by leading the core ACR business. He opened offices in San Francisco, acquired two companies, and accelerated overall growth. Enswers became the world’s largest ACR provider of Smart TVs, leading to its acquisition by Tribune Media Group in 2014, a move led by JP.
